Brad Cook – Co-Founder/partner of Medical Tours Costa Rica:

In 2006 Brad launched the Medical Tourism initiative for Hospital Clinica Biblica through his company Medical Tours Costa Rica, orchestrating an aggressive service oriented model that has helped position Hospital Clinica Biblica and Costa Rica as one of the top destinations in Latin America for medical services.

More than 2000 medical tourists from the USA and Canada have received an all inclusive medical experience through the services provide by Brad´s company in Costa Rica. Today Medical Tours Costa Rica has expanded its operations to cover multiple hospitals and dental clinics throughout Costa Rica, where its team of experienced staff coordinates all aspects of the medical tourism experience.

Born in Costa Rica of U.S. parents, Brad spent time in Brazil and the U.S. before finally settling down in Costa Rica. This unique tricultural background has allowed Brad to better understand the concerns and expectations of clients from many different cultural backgrounds.

Mr. Cook began helping international patients long before the term Medical Tourism came into vogue, having coordinated surgeries, emergency services, air ambulance evacuations, and insurance benefits and billing for thousands of international patients in need of medical care.

Brad is a pioneer in the field of international insurance billing and collections, having provided this service for Hospital Clinica Biblica and its physicians for the past 16 years. In March of 2010 Brad integrated his company with Midam Services as Director of the MidAm Medical Network to build their Latin America Medical Network and division for International Insurance billing and collections for hospitals in Latin America.

Brad is a recognized expert on the topic of Medical Tourism and International patient services having spoken and directed workshops at various Medical Tourism and Benefits conferences.

The success Mr. Cook has had developing the international patient program has been viewed as a model for other hospitals in Latin America who are implementing a medical tourism program of their own, and he is often contacted by hospitals and governments as a consultant.

As an Advisory Board Member and Strategic Development officer for Latin America for the Medical Tourism Association, Brad is contacted regularly by local and international publications on the subject of Medical Tourism and is a key proponent and strategic contact for the Costa Rican government in their ongoing development of Costa Rica as the region’s premiere medical tourism destination.

Mr. Cook has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI.

Bill Cook – Founder/partner of Medical Tours Costa Rica

An internationally recognized expert on medical tourism, Bill Cook developed one of Latin America’s most successful international patient programs by focusing front and center on the patient experience. Over the last five years Bill and his team have managed offshore medical care for nearly 2,000 patients treated at Costa Rica’s three JCI accredited facilities.

Additionally, Bill along with his brother Brad Cook, created and ran Hospital Clinica Biblica’s international patient department from December 2006 to October 2011, positioning Hospital Clinica Biblica as one of the world’s premier medical tourism destinations.

As Medical Tours Costa Rica’s founding partner and operations manager, Bill Cook manages the day to day operations of the company ensuring that the necessary processes are in place for an outstanding international patient process.

Bill also spearheads the development of international patient training programs at hospitals around the world.  Bill is an author, consultant and speaker on topics related to medical tourism and a contributor to the “Medical Tourism Magazine (MTA), published by the U.S. based Medical Tourism Association.

Bill has coauthored three books: “Developing an International Patient Center,” “The Medical Tourism Facilitator,” and “The Las Vegas Health and Wellness Guide” together with Renee Marie Stephano, president of the Medical Tourism Association.
