History
Established in 1929 by protestant missionaries from the United States, the Hospital Clinica Biblica boasts a longstanding tradition of medical excellence, hospitality and outstanding service.

Joint Commission International Certification: The HCB is presently undergoing a rigorous process of evaluation to ensure accreditation by the Joint Commission International. This is the most prestigious certification awarded to international hospitals and will provide our clients with an extra measure of assurance that we implement and comply with top industry standards.

Located in the heart of San José, Costa Rica’s capital city, the HCB boasts modern, state-of-the-art facilities with all the conveniences and services you would expect from a world-renowned medical institution. These include 88 patient rooms, 4 surgery…and 12 laboratories designed…

Due to growing demand, the HCB recently opened an ultra-modern, $22 million dollar expansion wing that will allow the hospital to cater to the rising number of clients seeking its services. The first stage offer clients more rooms, surgery wards, laboratories, emergency services and doctor's offices, among others.

4. Modern patient monitoring equipment for better recovery.

The HCB laboratory is equipped for all types of tests and is managed by recognized microbiologists. It has state-of-the-art equipment for analysis in the fields of bacteriology, parasitology, radioimmunoanalysis, immunological tests, and hematology and blood chemistry.

Food Service
Clínica Bíblica Hospital offers integral and specialized nutritional services to hospitalized patients. We have qualified personnel in food handling, preparation and hygiene. This facility is periodically supervised.
The team at the Nutrition department supervises the whole food preparation and distribution process.

We offer you a cafeteria at the Hospital and 3 restaurants on the First Floor of the Omega building.

Religious services
The HCB has a chaplain. Every day, they visit all patients and pray with them. We have no restrictions for representatives from other religions to visit our patients as long as other patients are not disturbed by uncommon noise. We have a chapel you can make use of after coordinating with the chaplain department.
